Nagasaki this was the other island that we bombed where we blackmailed the Japanese to surrender.  We did it twice and said that we had another one but the Japanese were smart and surrendered causing them now to out-produce the United States.

Pearl Harbor This was the day that most say was the reason why we entered WW2. There is a theory that we let Pearl Harbor happen so that we would win the Support of the people, but, I think that there is no way that the US is that sick of a government.

Operation Barbarossa -  Operation Barbarossa was carried out in June 1941 by Hitler. It was the conquest of the Soviet Union, as Hitler wanted to gain more living space for Germans and win control of regions that were rich in valuable resources.

During the Holocaust, the Nazis searched out and capture hundreds of thousands of non-German people, mainly Jews, under Hitlers orders. Stalingrad - Hitler and Stalin fighting viciously for the symbolic city.  The Germans ruined the city, with the Russians surrounding their attackers, and the harsh Russian winter approaching.  They fought in the streets, sometimes fighting for two weeks over a single house.

Explain 2 reasons why the US used the atomic bomb against Japan First of all, Japan was becoming too powerful, and posed as a threat to the US, especially after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Second, the US wanted to put a final end to the war, and basically had no other way to do so without losing thousands of more soldiers. This new technology proved effective as it forced Hiroshima to finally surrender, however, it did have some very bad side effects.
